Delegation: The Dos and Donts

One of the most challenging things a business owner faces is deciding what to delegate, and when. Here are some tips to help you make the right judgement call:
1. Be honest with yourself about what needs to be done by you versus what you prefer to be done by you – it can be challenging to let go of control, but you stand to gain a lot if you can overcome that obstacle!
2. Trust your judgement to lean on those you know are best equipped to deliver the results you need – you didn’t get to where you are by being a bad judge of character, so don’t second guess who you know is the right person to take over the task. You know what’s best!
3. Analyze options visually – it could be a to-do list, vision board, or flow chart but whatever your preferred tool, seeing what you need done mapped out can go a long way to helping you figure out how to execute a game plan.
